Smoked Brisket

Smoky brisket smothered in barbecue sauce and slow cooked. Perfect for shredding and making barbecue beef sandwiches.
Ingredients -
1 ounces Liquid Smoke
6 pound Brisket
Salt and Pepper
8 ounces Bottle Barbecue Sauce
 
Preparation:

1. Place brisket in large bowl. Pour liquid smoke over brisket. Rub in.

2. Cover bowl with foil. Refrigerate brisket over night.

3. Preheat oven to 350 F.

4. Place brisket in oven roasting pan. Season with salt and pepper.

5. Pour barbecue sauce on brisket. Brush to coat evenly.

6. Bake, covered, for 4 hours.

Indirect cooking is best for slow cooking, similar to the results experienced in baking foods in an oven. Generally calls for adequate fuel, consistent temperature, and the lid being closed for extended periods of time.
